3 tattoo inspirations

tatto

Are you getting your first tattoo? The process of getting it can be nerve-wrecking, because you don’t know whether it will hurt or if you’re going to be happy with the end result. You want to make sure that the tattoo you’re getting, will be one you’ll be happy with for the rest of your life. In this blog, we’ll give you three tattoo inspirations that you can base your first tattoo around. Get inspired!

1 Animals

A very popular thing to get tattooed, are animals. Whether it are snakes, wolves or butterflies, an animal can be a very cool sight if done by the right artist. Many animal-tattoos have a meaning behind them, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it should take you away from getting them. Because, if you like the tattoo, you like the tattoo, right? The placement of this animal tattoo is up to you, but both snakes and butterflies are beautiful on the arm. An animal like a wolf or a lion could make for a great backpiece, but again: that’s up to you.

2 Symbols

A lot of tattoo artists are inspired by philosophy. By adding symbols into their art, they manage to combine both worlds. This way symbols create an easy option for a small first tattoo, that does have a meaning behind it. If you are choosing for a symbol as your tattoo, you do want to make sure you fully stand behind the meaning it stands for, as it might look odd if you don’t. Symbols you can think of are the symbols of star signs, or symbols like the yin yang symbol.

3 Get musical!

Music can be a great inspirator for your first tattoo. Maybe when you think of a musical tattoo, you immediately think of song lyrics. This doesn’t have to be the case, as you can easily symbolize these lyrics. Dig deeper into your favourite artist and see what inspired them to write the lyrics, as there’s often more behind this than you think as well. We have to note that if you do want to get a tattoo based on an artist, it’s a good idea to make sure you’re listening to this artist for a long period of time. Otherwise, you might regret getting your tattoo after a while, if it’s a tattoo of an artist you don’t like a lot anymore.

Other tips

Something not related to the tattoo, but more to the person is that we fully advise you try to stop being scared. Most tattoo artists will gladly help you by making the right choice, or giving advise in what they think would work for you. Of course, it can still be scary but making the first step will open doors for you. For your first tattoo, it might be smart to also start small: this way you won’t have to worry about paying a lot for something you don’t really like. Unless you’ve just won a jackpot, of course!
