Highest Grossing Movies Of All Time

Movies

The movie industry has so much money and income flowing through it at any given time. Movies cost millions to make and also bring in unbelievable amounts of revenue. Actors are some of the highest paid individuals in the world. There are many different income paths that generate revenue for a movie: theatrical exhibition, home video, television broadcast rights, airlines and hospitality, video on demand and merchandising.

Despite these many options for the film and team to earn an income, the most successful way for films to bring in the money is through the box office. As much as the movie industry has shifted, changed and evolved over the years since black and white silent films, the fact that the box office is the best income generator is something that has not changed. Buying a physical ticket and going to watch your favourite actors and actresses playing make believe in emotive, dramatic and societal changing roles is a past time that will be forever done and celebrated.

While inflation has left us removing many phenomenal films from the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s, there are franchises that come from that period that are still surprisingly active and still earning an income. Some of them are Star Wars, Superman franchises, James Bond and Godzilla.

Some of the older films that held the record of highest-grossing film still have noticeable incomes, even by today’s standards. Many of these can no longer be considered due to the massive incomes of some of the top earning movies in the past 10 years. They’ve raked in sums that rival the biggest wins won from an online casino welcome bonus, and often exceed these already eye-watering amounts too.
